The UWEST Alumni Association Committee is comprised of recent graduates that want to stay connected and give something back to the school. The Alumni Association Committee was organized on April 17, 2011 with the following graduates along with UWEST President Dr. Sam C.S. Wu as our advisor.

Sally Ho, MBA in International Business, 2010

My name is Sally Ho, and I’m a international student from Taiwan, I graduated in December 2010 with a Master of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from UWest. My Bachelors degree is also in International business  from Isu-University in Taiwan, Kaohsiung. I’m working in furniture industry now.

I’m glad to coordinate this meaningful Alumni Association to share with all of you. And this is the place that we can stay in touch with our classmates and Uwest. The diploma will be more valuable by our hands to support each other and University of the West.

Susan Zhong, MBA in Finance, 2009

My name is Zexun Zhong, a.k.a. Susan. I am an international student from Mainland China. After graduating in 2009 with a Master of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from UWest, I went back to school and continue to pursue an accounting certificate this year. UWest is a big family and I experienced its development and growth during these two years.  I appreciate UWAA and the efforts by various stakeholders who making this occasion possible, because with this platform, we are not only able to connect again, but also to give valuable work and life experience and take it back from others at the same time.

There are many ways in which we can support our alma mater, and this is the very first step. So click it and register now.


Peong-Tat Ong, MBA in Finance, 2010

My name is Peong-Tat Ong, but I normally go by “Ong”. I’m an international student from Malaysia and have graduated on Dec 2010 from UWest, in Masters of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. My undergraduate degree was in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2004. My previous 3.5 years of working experience in Malaysia was in electronic manufacturing industry and semiconductor industry. Currently, I’m working with a Contract Manufacturing firm for electronic manufacturing industry, located in Southern CA.

In UWAA, together with Wan Kah as a team for Public Relations, we are working closely with the UWAA committees to develop our newly established UWAA club.
We have a mission to re-connect all the UWest alumnus and establish a network to keep in touch.

My message to all Alummi: Please join us for the benefit for yourself and for our Alma Mater! Hope to see you during one of our activities.


J. Oliver S. Hament, MBA in Finance, 2010

My name is J. Oliver S. Hament (奥利弗) and I’m a domestic student from Los Angeles.  I graduated in December 2010 with a Master of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from UWest.  I have a Bachelors of Science in Telecommunications Technology from Mt. Sierra College and have been in the IT industry for the past 15 years.  I also have licenses from the Federal Communications Commission and the California Department of Insurance.  I have been working for the Los Angeles Unified School District (2nd largest school district in the US) for the past 10 years in their IT Division as a Project Manager.

I’m proud to stay connected with my classmates from UWest as we work cohesively to establish UWAA.  Technology is an important piece of our lives and I hope to help keep the UWest students connected through the UWAA website, Facebook page, Twitter stream and any other online portal we can utilize.

My message to all Alumni: In addition to the great education and life changing experience by attending UWest, you have also made many new friendships that should not be forgotten.  As you explore the world from a new perspective, please stay connected with UWAA.  See you online or at one of our activities!


Andrea, MBA in International Business ,  current student

This is Andrea from Taiwan. I will have my MBA degree end of 2011, major in International Business.

I had my undergraduate degree in Taiwan, major in International Trade in 2005 and I came to U.S.  on Aug. 2008. With more than 7 years experience in customer service in Taiwan and 3 years customer service in Commerce, L. A., I’m looking for a new adventure in my career now.

As an international student, I experienced the tough time in between studying and working. Hanse, I would like to provide my time and my experience to help our members to give a suggestion or some help in their career. Please always feel free to let me know is there anything I can help.


Wanjia Ong, M.A. in Religious Studies, 2010 graduated

My name is Wanjia and I am from Malaysia.  I did my M.A. in Religious Studies, concentration in Buddhist Studies and I graduated in 2010.  I also have a degree in B. Sc. in Agriculture Business from Malaysia Putra University for my undergraduate, and I have been working in the publication industry for many years.

I went back to UWest this year, pursuing my MBA with concentration in Finance. Currently I am also a work study in the campus library. With the experiences and resources that I have, I hope I can help UWAA to develop and grow, to bring all the Alumni members together, and to serve the needs and suggestions from UWest.

We welcome all the Alumni to join UWAA, and we look forward to seeing you in our activities that we are going to run soon. Together we share the resources and networks, and make UWest a better place.


Vicky Yeh, MBA in International Business , 2009 graduated.

My name is Vicky Yeh, Taiwanese, graduated in year of 2009 winter with MBA degree, concentrating on international business. Currently I am working with Malaysian company in medical and industrial device industry as marketing officer, handling domestic accounts and meanwhile communicating with factories in Asia.

Together with UWAA, we have goals to establish a network that can benefit UWEST alumni.

Sandra Fung, MBA in Finance, 2011 graduated.

My name is Sandra and I am an international student from Hong Kong. I graduated in May 2011 from UWest, in Master of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. My Bachelors degree was in Business Studies from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2005. My previous working experience was in finance/accounting industry for some years in Hong Kong. I am now looking for a job and new challenges.

Our mission of UWAA is to increase the level of communication and promote positive lifelong relationships between alumni and our Alma Mater; I hope I could share my experience and give some help to our members, and keep in touch with all our members to establish a worldwide alumni network.
